Sookie | After Debbie hit the ground outside, Sookie moved to the window carefully to see if she'd taken off running. She wasn't there anymore, so that was something. Those who were there were rather more surprising, though. |
Russell | Russell, quite frankly, had enough of watching this brawl from the sidelines. He waited until someone came out of the house and, using that nifty ancient vampire speed, easily took himself a hostage. It just so happened that hostage wasn't even human. Russell had Jessica by the back of her neck, his grip firm even though his face was all smiles. "Since none of you are hospitable enough to invite me in, I'm going to assist y'all come outside!" Russell called out. He smiled at Jessica. "I'm sure this lovely girl would be grateful for the company." |
Jessica | Jessica had chased her wolf out of the house...and ran right into Russell's grasp. She struggled against his hold on her, but he was older and much stronger. "Let me go!" she demanded. |
Russell | "Stop that, sweetheart," Russell said. "You'll only hurt yourself." Lord knows he'd hate to have that happen. |
Sookie | Sookie had heard Russell, of course. And seen him, along with Bill and Eric, who were lurking nearby. She hurried outside as quick as she could, telepathically crying out to the others in the hopes that nothing big and furry would get her on the way out. "Let her go!" |
Russell | "Well since you asked so nicely," Russell said sarcastically, not loosing his grip on Jessica one bit. "Tell you what, I'd be willing to swap her out. Trade y'all a redheaded girl for a blonde one." |
Jessica | "Bill, help me!" Jessica pleaded. She couldn't believe Bill was just letting this happen...but this Bill wasn't her maker. He was a stranger. |
Bill | Bill slanted a look her way, curious. "She's not the one you want," he offered coolly, shrugging. He might have reacted more strongly, if he'd known who Jessica was. "She's right there. You don't need leverage anymore." |
Sookie | "What do you even want with me?" Sookie asked softly, eyes darting from Russell to Bill -- her mind wasn't really computing what he was saying about Jessica, mostly because her body was going into shock seeing him, and she was resisting the urge to run away. "I don't care, just don't hurt Jessica." |
Russell | "There's a smart girl," Russell said, not bothering to answer her first question. She'd find out soon enough. He freed up a hand to gesture to Sookie, but kept the other one tight on Jessica's neck. Russell wasn't dumb enough to think he didn't need leverage, no matter what Bill said. "Baby vamp goes free once you get over here, Miss. Stackhouse." |
Sookie | Sookie only hesitated long enough to consider any other course of action before moving, carefully, down the steps. She had a better chance of getting out of this than Jessica did. She'd already done it once, after all. "Fine. But y'all got witnesses this time. Not a smart move, Mister." She turned her gaze on Eric, then Bill. "And I don't know what you've got on these two, but if I get out of this, you can count on the fact that there's a group of people standing behind me who'll be more likely to stake you than ever help you again." |
Eric | Eric nodded. "I've been threatened by your cohorts before, Miss Stackhouse. I know how it works." |
Sookie | "But not by me," Sookie said quietly. "Because I trusted you. Stupid, stupid Sookie." |
Raven | "Sookie, no!" Raven said. They'd just gotten her away from the vampires, and she couldn't just stand there and let them take her away again. She knew Jessica was Sookie's friend, but she was just a vampire like the others. |
Sookie | Sookie turned to give her a sad little smile. "Raven, I have to. He'll kill all of you to get to me if I don't. It'll be okay." She was pretty sure it wouldn't be. But she had to try and convince someone, if not herself. |
Kennedy | "Like hell it will," Kennedy burst out. "No way are you going off with unhinged-and-bitey here. Uncool. So uncool, and also? Entire fucking universes of no." |
Raven | "No," Raven agreed in a low voice, her eyes starting to gleam red in the darkness. She could destroy these vampires like the ones in the other Fandom. She could fill their minds with fear and their bodies with pain until they begged for mercy before she let them touch Sookie. And she could control it this time; she wouldn't lash out at her friends. |
Bobby | Bobby briefly debated sliding over to Russell and snatching Jessica from him, but even as the idea sprung to mind he knew he wouldn't be a match for vampire speed. "This is a really bad idea Sookie," Bobby tried. It was also exactly what he'd do in her situation, but that wasn't the issue right now. |
Sookie | "You saw the news," she countered quietly, shaking her head. "No. I have to." She swallowed, trying not to cry. She suddenly wasn't as brave as she'd been pretending to be earlier. "I love you. All of you. It'll be okay." << Follow us, >> she urged, prodding into their heads. << Let them take me and follow. Let him think he's won for a second. >> |
Karla | "We'll get you back, Sookie," Karla promised, not taking her eyes off of Russell. "You know we will. I've got a cake full of pies riding on this." |
Emma | "Raven." There was an undertone of command in Emma's voice, and she didn't hesitate to reach into the other girl's mind and grab hold tightly, forcing her to obey, commanding control. If she flipped out, they were all dead. "You would think, Mr. Northman, that after all your years walking this planet, you would have learned the difference between a threat and a promise," she drawled slowly. "And believe me when I say that these people will enjoy making you hurt for this." Emma didn't like the idea, at all -- her own bias against vampires was showing -- but she couldn't override Sookie and Raven at the same time. She'd trust Sookie to have a plan over Raven any day. |
Karla | "This isn't a threat, Eric," Karla said, voice colder than cold. "It's a promise. And it won't be a stake. I will burn you and your bar to the ground and then salt the ashes." Flames erupted around her hands and she gave the vampires a measuring look. The Healing web was still active. It might be enough if Sookie got caught in the flames--no. She couldn't unleash her fire if there was a chance that Sookie could get hurt. Not when she was this tired. Fuck. |
Emma | "Karla, don't make me sit on you like I did Raven," Emma managed between gritted teeth. She didn't know if she actually had the power to hold both of them in-check, but if it meant not going up in a fireball, she'd try. |
Emma | *I'm not going to do anything stupid,* Karla snapped over a psychic thread. *Not with Sookie in the way. But if we can make him rethink his decision to suicide-by-Fandom...* |
Raven | Raven twitched a little, struggling against Emma's hold on her. Some tiny rational part of her knew Emma was doing the right thing, but the demon part of her was raging to be free. She knew she was going to have to fight not to turn on Emma once she was released. |
Emma | << Raven, stop that, >> Emma chided mentally as she clamped down harder. << Sookie does not have time for you to lose it right now, and neither do I. So get it together, or you'll be taking a nice long nap and wake up locked in a closet. >> |
Karla | Karla also glanced over at Raven. Do you need me to calm you? Look! They had their own shorthand and everything! |
Raven | Protect Sookie! Raven mentally growled at them both. She didn't want to lose control, but she didn't want to allow the vampires to take Sookie, either. Calming was for after everyone was safe. |
Karla | *Then leash it so I can!* Karla's psychic voice was more of a growl. *I can't concentrate on her if I'm worried about you!* |
Eric | "We'll need feeders, too," Eric said, ostensibly to Russell. He strode over towards Kennedy and Bobby, hoping that Sookie, at least, would guess why he was picking them. |
Sookie | "Fine, fine," Russell said. He released his grip on Jessica roughly and moved to take Sookie by the arm. "Let's just get this over with. I'm tired of this town." |
Kennedy | "Feeders?" Kennedy burst out. "Whoa, hey, so not what I signed on for!" It was only partly feigned outrage; she thought she had an idea of what was going on here, but the idea? Still massive amounts of ew. |
Eric | "I'm not asking," Eric told her, baring his fangs. |
Bobby | "Kennedy," Bobby hissed, giving a light kick to her ankle. Eric knew Bobby, at least, had ways of making himself impossible to feed on. There had to be a reason he'd pick the two of them specifically as 'feeders'. There had to. |
Kennedy | "What? Jesus, Bobby," Kennedy hissed back through her teeth, giving him a chill (no pun intended) look. To Eric she added, with a sigh and a roll of her eyes, "Fine, fine, I get it, god. Put the pointies away." |
Raven | And now that Bobby and Kennedy were going to be taken along with Sookie wasn't helping matters for Raven. It made it harder to hold back on her anger, but she tried since that was going to be the only way to be free of Emma's hold. Stop them! she pleaded, more desperate than enraged now. She didn't understand anything about any possible plan. |
Karla | *Anything I do will catch Sookie, too,* Karla said. *She's already too weak--I can't chance it. Having Bobby and Kennedy along makes things safer, much safer than she'd be by herself.* Which might have been Eric's plan, but Karla wasn't about to give him that much credit. |
Russell | "Charming," Russell said, rolling his eyes at Eric's choice in dinner. "Grab the brats, Mr. Northman, and lets get out of here." |
Eric | Eric gave a little shrug before grabbing Kennedy and Bobby by the scruffs of their shirts and taking off into the sky. Because he could fly, too. |
Karla | Karla was shaking with suppressed reaction that came from holding her temper and her Craft back for so long. All she wanted was let them fly and burn everything until they got Sookie back. "Gutter sons of a fucking whore!" she swore as the vampires vanished from sight. "I will kill every last one of them if I have to!" Big words from the witch who was holding onto the doorjamb for balance. |
Raven | Raven quickly moved to Karla's side, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and trying to give her some of her own strength. "We must find them first," she said. "Where would they take her? Fantasia?" |
Karla | "Probably," Karla snarled. Dammit and she had trusted Eric! Sort of! She was going to burn down his bar with all of them trapped inside, she really was! ...She really didn't have the energy to support this much anger. Karla was just going to cling to Raven for a moment until the bout of dizziness past. This whole weak-as-an-infant thing was starting to get really old. "Okay," she said a minute later. "First things first. We can track them. How are we going to follow them?" |
Raven | "A vehicle of some sort?" Raven suggested, rubbing Karla's back to try to calm her, though it was difficult when she herself was feeling near frantic with worry about Sookie, Bobby, and Kennedy. She just had to keep it tightly under control. "I...do not know how to drive, however." |
Karla | "You think I can either?" Karla snapped. Because snapping at Raven was helpful right now, yes. It was also the moral equivalent of kicking a puppy. "Maybe Emma?" she said, swallowing back her temper. "Or maybe a horse or three can be found? I can probably stay on one." If tied. And the horse stayed at a walk. |
Raven | Raven flinched, swallowing her guilt about not trusting her powers now. "Or...Sookie's brother," she murmured, drawing back a step. "Jason." |
Karla | "We probably shouldn't bring Jason in on this," Karla said. "He's over-emotional, not very bright, and Sookie wouldn't want us getting her brother into trouble. Maybe Alcide? We can maybe get a ride from him." |
Raven | "He works for Eric," Raven pointed out quietly. "I do not think we can trust him now." |
Karla | Shit! Shit! Shit! She'd forgotten about that little detail. "I could always make him drive with my fist around his heart," Karla snarled, turning to kick at a post on the porch. "And Emma's eyes on his brain." She turned to the baby vampire of the group. "What about you? Can you drive?" |
Jessica | "I don't have a license or anything," Jessica said reluctantly. "But I could figure it out. But the sun's gonna be coming up soon." Stupid daylight. |
Karla | "So we either stuff you in the trunk of a car that we don't have yet, or you need to find a place to sleep," Karla said. "At least, if the vampires of this world are anything like the ones in the other-Fandom." Though watching Eric, Bill, and Russell all turn to dust on the wind sounded awfully appealing right then. |
Jessica | "I ain't goin' to Bill's house, that's for sure," Jessica said. "But I know how to dig a hole and crawl in there for the day. And I can catch up with you later I guess." |
Emma | "Oh for fuck's sake." Emma had gone to get a glass of water to clear her head after exerting her gifts, and was regarding them all with varying levels of 'Dear God, How Am I The Adult Here?' "Yes, darlings, Auntie Emma can drive. She's got a license and passed the class and everything, she simply prefers having a professional driver," she sighed. "Jessica, where can we find a car around here? I would prefer something with the keys, but we can call a cab if we have to." "And Jessica, you are not sleeping in a hole. We'll block off the basement windows and build you a pillow fort if we have to, but we don't have time for you to dig your way out again later." |
Jessica | "Bill taught me what's what vampires do when they're away from home," Jessica said. But then again, Bill had stood there and let Russell threaten to kill her, and even if he wasn't her Bill she was still pretty pissed at him. "It's kinda dangerous to risk somethin' fallin' away from a window or somethin', but I guess it'll be ok for just one day, especially seeing how Sookie needs help." She looked around, remembering the car she'd been in with Sookie while they'd looked for Bill. "My Sookie has a car," she said. "It's kinda yellow and small. Oh, there it is! I think she keeps the keys in the kitchen...." She used vamp speed to rush into the house and back out again, triumphantly holding a set of keys in her hand. "That's so weird how they keep them in the exact same place!" |
Karla | Karla waved any potential weirdness aside. It didn't matter. "Jessica, you get down into the basement, find yourself a secure place to sleep for the day. As soon as you wake up, find a way to get to Fangtasia." She jotted down her cell phone number, just in case. "Call first, just to make sure we're not somewhere else. Emma, Raven, we need to go. Now. I don't know what those bastards have planned, but it doesn't bode well for any of us." |
