brat_inslayageBig surprise: Kennedy was, again, multitasking in her office, with her laptop out and constant text messages coming in on the phone that was just lying atop her desk because pulling it out of her pocket repeatedly was just going to be annoying. (She was in the middle of a spirited debate with Vi, Dawn, and a couple of regional squad leaders about whether it was better to really make sure the newbie Slayers understood that Halloween was actually one of the slowest nights of the year in their job, or to say 'screw tradition, keep an eye out anyway' just so they didn't get complacent about it. She was, of course, taking the latter position.)
She was also working on this week's class, so there was a lot of back-and-forth with Willow over email since things like the finer points of programming computer simulations were never going to be her forte, and a very large quadruple-shot caramel macchiato on the desk because she was definitely going to need that.
And if she was looking a little bit more cheerful than usual today, for reasons that might have had to do with a new ring she was sporting, well . . . She was just going to keep that to herself unless anybody asked.
